About the Company

A venture-backed startup building the agent runtime for one of the largest decentralized perpetual (“perps”) exchanges. The company builds the hardened agentic execution infrastructure, a proprietary real-time data layer, and the open-source strategy marketplace that autonomous AI trading agents run on.

The target exchange is the largest decentralized perpetual exchange (~$7B daily volume, ~$4T cumulative, 70%+ market share in decentralized perps) — and the company is the infrastructure layer that agents run on to access it.

Funding & team:

Backed by ~$4.5M in seed funding from leading crypto-focused venture firms.

Founding team previously built a widely-used onchain data infrastructure platform (billions of events indexed across major EVM chains); that entire core engineering team is now building this company.

Recent hires include lead engineers from a top crypto wallet and a leading DeFi lending protocol.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data pipeline — executing the enrichment roadmap (OI velocity, funding history, liquidation data, cross-asset flow detection); server-side computation at scale.
  • Runtime execution layer — serial signal processing, atomic state management, idempotent order submission, risk enforcement against live exchange state.
  • DSL exit engine — the trailing stop-loss state machine that protects every open position — two-phase architecture, exchange reconciliation, state recovery.
  • Scanner subsystem — building new scanner types, optimizing the provider layer, wiring new signals into the confluence scoring system.
  • Learning agent infrastructure — building systems that let agents observe every trade, identify failure patterns, propose runtime improvements, and launch new experiments autonomously.
  • Scale — taking the runtime from hundreds of agents to tens of thousands.

Requirements

  • A Staff-level engineer capable of owning large, business-critical systems. Proven ability to lead work end-to-end: problem definition → architecture → implementation → production. Comfortable making high-impact technical decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • Crypto-native experience (essential) — Hands-on experience with crypto wallets, tokens, and trading systems; deep familiarity with trading APIs, execution flows, and transaction lifecycles; strong intuition for how real crypto markets behave under volatility and scale. Product specifics can be taught, but fluency in crypto primitives and trading systems is required.
  • Strong production experience with TypeScript and Node.js (primary stack).
  • Golang experience for infrastructure work.
  • Python experience (scanners and DSL components) is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of event-driven architectures, state machines, and serial processing.
  • Experience building systems where correctness matters more than speed — financial-grade reliability.
  • Actively uses AI as an accelerant in design, development, and iteration (must have).
  • Experience running production systems: monitoring, on-call, incident response, root-cause analysis.

Bonus Skills

  • Direct experience with the target exchange’s API, order types, and clearinghouse model is a strong plus.
  • Background in trading systems, exchange APIs, or fintech where uptime has direct financial consequences.

Interview Process

  1. CTO Call — project deep-dive, technical ownership, crypto/AI exposure, clarity of thought.
  2. Tech Architecture Round — system design, scalability, and tradeoffs discussion.
  3. Pair Programming — hands-on coding; debugging and thought process are key.
  4. Culture Fit — conversation with founders; ownership, speed, curiosity, builder mindset.
