About the Company

A pre-seed AI platform (with some serious backers) rebuilding how legacy financial services businesses run their operations. The product replaces complex, manual back-office workflows - the kind that live in spreadsheets only one person understands, or in the heads of people who've been doing the same thing for a decade - with a team of AI agents that have memory, check each other's work, and log every decision with full audit lineage. Early customers have seen workflows that used to take hours every morning reduced to minutes of verification, deployed in under two weeks. Net expansion is running at 5.7x against a SaaS industry norm near 1.2x. Backed by institutional pre-seed investors and senior fintech operators with multiple successful exits, and building toward a seed round with significant signed pipeline already waiting on engineering capacity.

Why This Role Exists

Signed customers are waiting on engineering capacity. Most of the product is still unbuilt - the pre-seed phase was deliberately manual, and the work now is turning that into a real platform. Whoever joins will own primitives that stay in the product for the life of the company.

What You'll Work On

  • Ship agents into production for signed fintech customers, working directly with their operations teams
  • Build the memory and decision layer that lets each agent start smarter than the last
  • Make architectural calls on a codebase that barely exists yet, and own how those decisions hold up at scale
  • Solve novel problems - e.g. how agents share relevant context without exposing data they aren't cleared to see
  • Turn manual pre-seed processes into productized systems

Must-Haves

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with real full-stack depth
  • Startup experience at your current or immediately previous company (up to Series C)
  • Track record of architectural decisions that shaped a product - not just executing well-defined tickets
  • Comfortable building from near-zero with evolving requirements and frequent pivots
  • Willing to work in TypeScript and Node.js (current stack irrelevant; ramping is non-negotiable)

What They're Looking For

  • Obsessive about craft and intellectual curiosity about engineering
  • High ownership - cares whether the business succeeds and makes decisions accordingly
  • 2+ years at each company with the results of your own decisions visible
  • Joined a company early and grew into real responsibility
  • Thrives in ambiguity, chaos, and the absence of a spec

Compensation & Perks

  • CA$180,000-250,000 base + equity
  • Commuting costs covered
  • Lunch provided on office days
  • Healthcare
  • Unlimited PTO

Interview Process

  1. Co-Founder interview
  2. Systems design interview with an engineer
  3. Take-home exercise (practical/product work related)
  4. Take-home debrief
  5. Offer
