You'll own outcomes end-to-end rather than simply implementing tickets. Senior engineers influence product direction, make architectural decisions, build production systems serving millions of consumers, and work directly with Product, Design, Operations, and business stakeholders.

The company is also investing heavily in AI-powered products, LLMs, and agent-based systems, creating an opportunity to apply modern AI capabilities to real products with established customers, meaningful data, and measurable business outcomes.

You will:

• Design and build scalable production systems supporting millions of consumers and major financial institutions.
• Own features and systems end-to-end, from initial product and architecture decisions through production deployment.
• Build across a modern stack centered around Python, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Contribute directly to architectural decisions and product roadmap planning.
• Build and scale AI-powered product capabilities alongside traditional financial infrastructure.
• Solve complex engineering problems involving payments, data integrations, compliance, risk, and consumer-facing financial products.
• Drive engineering excellence through strong technical execution, thoughtful system design, and high-quality code.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, Operations, customers, and business stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and help raise the technical bar across the engineering organization.
• Help define and improve engineering processes, standards, and architectural practices alongside other senior engineers and leaders.

Skills:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend engineering experience with Python or comparable modern backend technologies.
• Experience with React or the ability to work effectively across a modern full-stack environment.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience building and operating production systems in AWS or comparable cloud environments.
• Experience designing, building, operating, and maintaining systems at meaningful production scale.
• Strong system design and software architecture fundamentals.
• Product-oriented engineering mindset with a focus on user and business outcomes rather than simply writing code.
• Ability to own technical problems from architecture through implementation and production.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally with Product, Design, Operations, or other business teams.
• Ability to clearly articulate the customer and business impact behind technical decisions.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to the technical development of a team.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent professional experience.
• NYC-based or willing to relocate and able to work from the office 3+ days per week.
